Lucy and Desi had performed "Cuban Pete/Sally Sweet" in their real-life 1950 vaudeville act.
This was one of the few episodes of "I Love Lucy" in which Lucy Ricardo was allowed to perform well -- without "messing up." Her "flub" this time was to starve herself into malnutrition!
