Lucy Photos of the Week

49 years ago this week (on October 27, 1952), I Love Lucy entertained America with "Vacation from Marriage," in which Lucy and Ethel attempt to take a vacation from their husbands, only to wind up spending a chilly night alone together on the roof of the Mertz apartment building. Another of Lucy's schemes gone awry!

The show, Episode #41, was the first to be filmed when the Lucy company reassembled (the week of July 27) after a shortened summer vacation. (The troupe had to return early so Lucille Ball could get as many episodes finished as possible before her newfound pregnancy forced her retirement from the show in mid-November.)
