Lucy Photos of the Week

Jess Oppenheimer, producer and head-writer of I Love Lucy, was born in San Francisco on November 11, 1913. Lucy and the Desilu crowd celebrated his 40th birthday after the Wednesday evening dress rehearsal for Episode # 77, "Lucy Has Her Eyes Examined."

The cake read, "Happy Birthday to... The Brains."

It is somehow fitting that CBS's I Love Lucy 50th Anniversary Special will air on Jess' birthday this year.
