Lucy Photos of the Week

(January 21 - 27th, 2002)

"The Green-Eyed Monster"

Lucy is jealous when glamorous Eve Whitney attracts all the men's attention at one of the Ricardos' parties -- and decides that she and Ethel should enroll in a charm school. They do -- with somewhat disasterous results.

"Charm School," episode #81 of I Love Lucy was first televised by CBS Television Network 48 years ago this week, on January 25, 1954. Included in the cast were Natalie Schafer -- a longtime character actress who is today best known for her role in TV's Gilligan's Island -- and Eve Whitney, an actress with whom Lucy had been close friends since her early days at MGM. (Eve is one of the showgirls with Lucy in "Ziegfeld Follies." Eve was also the wife of songwriter Eddie Maxwell, who wrote "There's a Brand New Baby at Our House" with Desi Arnaz.)
