FIRST TELEVISION
SERIES TO REACH 10,000,000 HOMES
“I Love Lucy,” spectacularly successful CBS Tele-
vision comedy series starring Lucille Ball and husband Desi Arnaz, is the first regularly-scheduled television program
to reach over 10,000,000 homes, according to the American
Research Bureau.
The research service’s report for April, released
today, shows that the April 7 “I Love Lucy” broadcast was
tuned in by 10,600,000 American families.
The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz program has been a
smash hit ever since its debut on CBS-TV last October 15.
The ARB survey is further evidence that Mondays at 9:00-9:30
PM, EDT, is “I Love Lucy’s” own, exclusive niche for the
vast majority of television viewers in this country.
“I Love Lucy” is sponsored by Philip Morris & Co.,
