Dear Fellow Lucy Fans,

Jim Bailey to Headline Lucy-Desi Days!

Entertainer/impressionist Jim Bailey will be the celebrity guest at this year's "Lucy-Desi Days" festival, held in Jamestown, NY, over Memorial Day Weekend, May 28-30, 2004.

The Bailey event, scheduled for Saturday, May 29, will include a special guest appearance by one of Bailey's celebrity friends. More details will be announced soon!

"We're really thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome Jim to Jamestown," said Lucy-Desi Museum Executive Director Ric Wyman. "And we're grateful that he's willing to lend his time and talent to raise money to support our cause -- especially in a year when we have many tasks at hand."

Wyman noted that it is Bailey's guest appearance in a 1972 episode of Here's Lucy (see photo below) that prompted the invitation to Lucille Ball's hometown. In that show, Lucy Carter persuades comedienne Phyllis Diller to perform at a local charity fundraiser. When Ms. Diller contracts a severe case of laryngitis, Lucy's daughter Kim (played by Lucie Arnaz) comes to the rescue and books female impressionist Jim Bailey to fill in! A screening of this episode will be part of the May 29 program. Bailey will also appear on-stage as himself, and share his memories of working with Lucy.

Have a great week everybody!
