As promised yesterday, following is the schedule of events for "Lucy's Birthday Celebration," to be held in Jamestown, NY, over the weekend of August 6-8. Circle the dates -- and make plans to join us in Lucy's hometown!
LUCY'S BIRTHDAY WEEKEND - (August 6-8, 2004)
Celebrate the birthday of our favorite redhead with us in her hometown! More than twenty events are being planned, including a special birthday cake bake-off, a Lucille Ball Fashion Show, Lucy "Under The Stars" film festival, "I Love Lucy" Trivia Contest, book signings, Late Night Improv with The Unexpected Guests, Lucytown Tours, and...
Very Special Guests: Bob Schiller (scriptwriter for "I Love Lucy"), Larry Orenstein ("I Love Lucy" composer who played the Mayor of Kildoonan in "Lucy Goes To Scotland"), Wanda Clark (Lucy's secretary), Frank Gorey (Lucy's chauffeur), and authors Elisabeth Edwards, Allan Glaser, and yours truly. Rick Carl, the illustrator of the new "I Love Lucy" Paper Dolls book will also be on hand!
The festival will also be saluting the 50th anniversary of "The Long, Long Trailer" and the 30th anniversary of Lucy's last big screen movie, "Mame"!
We hope you'll make Lucy's hometown your destination this summer as we celebrate the Queen of Comedy's birthday. Come to Jamestown and have a ball!

ALL WEEKEND LONG
THE LONG, LONG TRAILER EXHIBIT. Outside The Lucy-Desi Museum. Friends of the Lucy-Desi Museum, Doug Bachman and Steve Allen, will display their 1950's New Moon trailer - authentically restored to replicate Lucy and Desi's - during the festival weekend for fellow fans to view (exterior only).
LUCY-DESI MEMORABILIA COLLECTORS' SHOW. 300 N. Main, Corner of Third Street. Friday & Sunday: noon-4 pm; Saturday: 9 am-5 pm. Attention, collectors! Lucy-Desi movie posters, comic books, magazines, dolls, and more are offered here. Free admission.
LUCYTOWN TOURS. See schedule on ticket order form. A two-hour guided tour of Lucy's hometown!

LUCY-DESI MUSICAL REVUE. 11:30 am at Tracy Plaza; Third & Spring Street. Jamestown Suzuki Strings & Friends (under the direction of Nina Karbacka) offer a musical tribute to the First Couple of Comedy.
FESTIVAL PROCLAMATION. Noon; Tracy Plaza, Third & Spring Streets. Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi proclaims the official start of "Lucy's Birthday Celebration" and welcomes this year's special celebrity guests!
LUCY'S BIRTHDAY CAKE BAKE-OFF. 12:30 pm; outside The Reg Lenna Civic Center. Local bakeries, supermarkets, and caterers enter the 6th annual competition celebrating Lucy's birthday. Punch and birthday cake for everyone!
HERE'S LUCY FILM FESTIVAL I. 2 pm; Reg Lenna Civic Center, 116 E. Third Street. See three episodes of Lucy's 1970's CBS sitcom a whole new way-with special audio commentary by Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz, Jr.! (Here's Lucy will be available on DVD home video later this summer. LUCY-DESI FAN REUNION. 5 - 6:30 pm; Lucille Ball Memorial Park, Celoron. $500 in Door Prizes Courtesy of All-U. Sponsored by Elegant Edibles. The perfect time to mix and mingle with other fans as we gather at Lucille Ball Memorial Park for an early evening of food, prizes, and fun. Ticket holders will be responsible for transportation to event (~3 miles from Museum).

SPECIAL EVENT! "I LOVE LUCY" SCRIPT WRITER & COMPOSER BREAKFAST. 9:30 am Breakfast; 10 am Program. Reg Lenna Civic Center, 116 E. Third Street. Sponsored by Elegant Edibles. "I Love Lucy" script writer Bob Schiller and Larry Orenstein, "I Love Lucy" composer and guest star (the Mayor of Kildoonan in "Lucy Goes To Scotland") visit Jamestown for the first time and share memories of writing for the most famous sitcom in TV history. "I LOVE LUCY" RE-CREATION CONTEST: BROWN DERBY DINING REGISTRATION. 10 am - 3:30 pm; Third Street outside of theater Re-create a little TV history while stuffing yourself silly with Lucy Ricardo's Brown Derby menu choice…spaghetti with meat sauce, of course! Finalists will compete at ~4 pm. But first, you'll need to qualify to become a finalist, so stop by the Information Booth-just outside the theater-for your registration form and prove yourself a true Lucy fan by taking a quiz on this famous Lucy episode!
INFINITY PERFORMING ARTS PROJECT LOVES LUCY! Starting at noon, outside theater on Third Street. Young Jamestown area musicians salute the Queen of Comedy throughout the day.

After more than 30 years as Lucy's driver, Frank Gorey has many memories. Here's an opportunity to get a sneak peek at his yet-to-be published memoirs, Being Frank with Lucy. Hosted by Tom Watson.
"I LOVE LUCY" TRIVIA CONTEST. 1 pm; Reg Lenna Civic Center, 116 E. Third Street. $500 In Prizes Courtesy of Vandor. Nine rounds of trivia hosted by Elisabeth Edwards (author of "I Love Lucy": Fifty Years of Love & Laughter, The "I Love Lucy" Guide To Life, and the upcoming Lucy & Desi: A Real life Scrapbook of America's Favorite TV Couple). We'll randomly draw names of 36 fans from the audience to prove their "I Love Lucy" knowledge.

Lucille Ball's long-time secretary Wanda Clark will reminisce of working for Lucy during the filming the movie and share several pieces of Mame memorabilia that once were housed in Lucy's Beverly Hills home!
