Nothing Sells Like Success
Remember those Apple computer ads of a few years back that included a huge close-up of Lucy and Desi kissing? (In Los Angeles, we even had one painted on the side of a 10-story building!) Well, the Madison Avenue ad men know a good thing when they see it... and Lucy and Desi are once again featured prominently in a new ad campaign... This one is for Visa credit cards...
The theme of the campaign is "partnership." The portrait of Lucy and Desi is labeled "Her signature partner." Opposite is a group of Visa allies labeled "Our signature partners," which include United Airlines, Audi, Marriott Rewards, Hilton Honors, Merrill Lynch, etc. The advertising pitch begins with "Many of the greatest legends attribute their success to the trusted partners by their sides..."

"I Love Lucy" Season Two
Paramount Home Video's long awaited Season Two boxed set of "I Love Lucy" DVDs go on sale tomorrow, August 31, at most video outlets. Included in the package are 31 half-hour episodes on 5 discs.
The highlight of the 1952-53 season, of course, was the "Ricardos are having a baby" story arc... But there are a lot of other goodies as well, including "Job Switching," "The Operetta," "Vacation from Marriage," "Sales Resistance," "Club Election," "Lucy's Last Birthday" and "Never Do Business with Friends."
The Paramount package is priced at $69.99, but will be available in many discount outlets for much less.
