Still in Love with Lucy

Happy "first day after Labor Day!" Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Years ago I used to HATE this time of year -- summer was over and school was starting... On the other hand, the new TV season was about to start, and shows featuring the big stars -- people like Lucy, Jackie Gleason, Red Skelton, etc. -- would be "coming back" after their summer hiatus. I guess September wasn't so bad afterall!
New Merchandise at Lucy-Desi Gift Shop
September also marks the start of the fall merchandise season. (Remember when automakers used to "unveil" their new cars for the following year?) Among the new "Lucy" merchandise that is now available at the Lucy-Desi Gift Shop in Jamestown, NY, are rompers (for babies/infants) and loungewear for ladies. The romper has polka dots and the famous "I Love Lucy" logo heart on a pastel pink background. The casual wear includes a white top with the Lucy logo on the front, with patterned pants:
The romper is priced at $14.95, the lounge wear at $37.95. Both are available in various sizes, and can be purchased over the Gift Shop web site. For complete information, visit the site at:
The Gift Shop, by the way, is getting ready to move to larger quarters, effective November 1. For the past few years, it has been located on the corner of 3rd Street and Pine, virtually next door to the Lucy-Desi Museum (see photo, below). The shop will be moving down the street two blocks to the corner of 3rd and Main -- the site of the old Fleet Bank (the building used the past couple of years for the "dealer tables" at the various Museum-sponsored Lucy festivals).
