Still in Love with Lucy

With the new television season already getting started on some of the networks, the TV industry will again salute its own, with the annual Emmy Awards -- to be telecast this coming Sunday, September 19.
Lucyfan Peter Ennamorato wrote to remind us that TV Land will also be getting into the Emmy spirit this week with a one-hour special entitled, "Emmy's Greatest Moments." It airs at various times, beginning on Wednesday, September 15, at 10PM (Eastern time). Check your local cable listings for exact times in your area.
TV Land, by the way, has now scheduled "I Love Lucy" to air at 10AM in most areas... "It's an improvement over it being on in the middle of the night," says Gregg Oppenheimer, whose father produced and co-wrote the first 5 years of the classic series. "We heard from many youngsters and parents who were very frustrated when TV Land moved 'Lucy' out of prime time and into the wee small hours of the morning."
Gregg, of course, is currently producing the DVD versions of "I Love Lucy." The first three seasons are now available through the Columbia House subscription series. Paramount has just released Season Two as a boxed set -- and will release Season Three "probably in February," says Gregg.
That's the news for now... Have a great week everybody!
