Fellow Lucyfans,

Jamestown News Update

We thought we'd share with you a story that appeared in this past Friday's "Northwest Herald - Online" concerning the Lucy-Desi Museum in Jamestown:

Center Will Add Lucy-Desi Museum

Lucie Arnaz, who is bringing her cabaret act into Hollywood's Cinegrill Nov. 9-13, reports plans are moving right along for expansion and how! of the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center in Jamestown, N.Y.

"It started out as a little hole-in-the-wall museum. Now we have a 33,000-square foot building we're renovating to move into ... hopefully within the next year and a half."

Plans call not only for a museum that will permanently house the hugely successful "I Love Lucy" traveling exhibit, but also for classrooms and workshop/studio space, where seminars and classes will be held for budding creative comedy talents. According to Lucie, the town had seen quite a few businesses moving out in recent years, and "they needed something to come in there and help support them. This could be the thing.

They've been wonderful; they gave us a bank building where we have our offices and a gift shop. What gets my brother and me most excited is our vision statement, that the Center is there to preserve and protect the artifacts of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, and also to help enrich the world through the healing power of love and laughter, as they did."

Meanwhile, Lucie just finished a sold-out engagement at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, and says she was able to take the Cinegrill gig her first-ever intimate club date "back home" in Hollywood thanks to the postponement of the national tour of "Wonderful Town," in which she was to star. As for when the hit revival will head out on national tour, "I have no idea," she said.

Lucie at the Cinegrill

Lucie spent this past weekend vocalizing in Los Angeles. She sang at "The Best is Yet to Come," a fundraiser for Actors Fund (and a salute to composer Cy Coleman) Saturday evening, and again at the annual Thalians Ball on Sunday. As mentioned above, she opens at Hollywood's famous Cinegrill nightclub tomorrow night, and will be there through Saturday.

Many of your We Love Lucy friends will be attending the shows. A few of us, in fact, will be helping Lucie by selling her CDs in the Cinegrill lobby before and after each performance. Michael Stern will be manning the table on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Yours truly will be there on Friday, and Frank Gorey will be there on Saturday. We hope a lot of you will stop by for a great evening of entertainment.

The Cinegrill is located in the Roosevelt Hotel, at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard, in the heart of Hollywood. For ticket information, call (323) 769-7269, (866) 468-3399, or visit the Cinegrill web site at:

"Lucy" DVDs on Schedule

Producer Gregg Oppenheimer reports that Paramount Home Video will release the "I Love Lucy -- Season 3" boxed set on or about February 1, 2005. The 4th season discs are expected to follow three to six months later.

Have a great week everybody!
