Dear Fellow Lucy Fans,

HSN Time Change

Fans/collectors who are planning to watch tonight's "Lucy Hour" on Home Shopping Network take note: the network has now scheduled it to run 7-8PM Eastern Time/ 4-5PM Pacific. Suzanne LaRusch, the noted Lucy impersonator, will appear on the show... What a great forum for the Lucy merchandise!

Mary vs. the Classics...

As mentioned last week, at 10PM tonight (Eastern and Pacific Time), ABC will air TV Guide's 50 Best Shows of All Time, saluting classics like I Love Lucy. At the same hour, CBS will present a Mary Tyler Moore Show Reunion, featuring Mary, Ed Asner, Gavin MacLeod, Betty White, Cloris Leachman and Valerie Harper.

Famous TV Moms

People Magazine this week (issue dated May 20, 2002) includes a short article about babies being added to television programs. While the story's "hook" is the birth this week on Friends of Rachel and Ross's baby, the article also recalls the birth of Little Ricky on I Love Lucy in 1953 and of Murphy Brown's baby in 1992. Lucy scribe Madelyn Pugh Davis is quoted, and there is a photo of Lucy.

Saluting Cobb's Finest

Fans in the southern California area will want to visit the special exhibit at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of photos recalling the famous Brown Derby Restaurants. (Exhibit runs through July 14.) Included are photos of all the big stars that once dined at Bob Cobb's four famous eateries... and, yes, Lucy and Desi are among them. In fact, Cobb's daughter, Peggy Cobb Walsh, told the Los Angeles Times last week that the I Love Lucy episode in which Lucy Ricardo encountered William Holden at the Hollywood Brown Derby is one of the primary reasons the restaurants are remembered today. "I think that has kept the Derby known by other generations because that episode is on someplace once a week."

Have a great week everybody!
