Dear Fellow Lucyfans:
Vivian Vance Salute Planned for Jamestown
Ric Wyman and the powers-that-be at the Lucy-Desi Center in Jamestown, New York, are putting the finishing touches on their plans for this year's "Lucy-Desi Days" festival, scheduled for May 25-27 (Memorial Day Weekend). We hope to have the complete schedule for you next week.
One event I can announce is a special salute to Vivian Vance that Ric has asked me to host. The event will include film clips and on-stage conversations, and will most likely be the Saturday morning presentation. There will be some special guests included in the presentation -- and they, too, will be announced next week. I hope you can all join us in Jamestown this year for what promises to be another exciting festival.
"STAR NOTES" on the Radio
Our thanks to actress Janet Waldo for her appearance with us this week on "Star Notes." Janet, of course, was the actress who played Peggy Dawson ("Keep jiggling, Peggy") in the "Young Fans" episode of I Love Lucy, and played Lucy's sister in a first-season episode of The Lucy Show. Janet not only joined us "live" in the studio with many stories about Lucy, old time radio and early television -- but also shared with us a few audio clips from some of her shows. If you missed it, you can still listen to the rebroadcasts any afternoon this week.
Our special guest this coming Saturday is Michael Stern, the man whom Lucy called her "Number One Fan." Michael first me Lucy at a filming of "Here's Lucy" in the early 1970s, but soon became a personal friend. He has many interesting stories to share about his experiences with Our Favorite Redhead.
If you have questions you would like to ask our guest, you can either "phone in" during the broadcast -- and be part of the show -- or send your questions in advance via e-mail. The toll-free call-in number is:
1 - 8 8 8 - 7 4 6 - 5 8 7 5
The e-mail address is email@example.com -- or click this icon:
Again, STAR NOTES is presented "live" every Saturday afternoon -- 1-3PM Pacific Time; 4-6PM Eastern Time. Repeats will air daily: Sundays 11AM - 1PM (Eastern Time); and Monday-thru-Friday 4-6PM (Eastern Time).
"STAR NOTES" -- and all of the Shokus Internet Radio offerings -- can be accessed from your computer at:
Have a great week everybody!
