New Lucy Book to "Premiere" in Jamestown

Even though the official publication date for "Lucy iat the Movies," the new book by Cindy De La Hoz, is not until fall, the Lucy-Desi Center in Jamestown, NY, has made special arrangements to have copies available for visitors to their August 3-5 festival.

Author De La Hoz will be in Jamestown that weekend to sign copies of the book, and to host a special presentation saluting Lucy's work in motion pictures.

"Vote for Suzanne!"

It's "finals" week on ABC-TV's summer reality contest "The Next Best Thing," and Lucy-impressionist Suzanne LaRusch is in the competition...

We invite Lucyfans everywhere to watch the finals match on Wednesday of this week (July 18), and then to VOTE for Suzanne! Yes, America picks the winner to this talent contest -- via phone, on-line or text.

You (or family members) can vote up to five times from every phone number and 5 times from every e-mail address. The instructions of where to go to vote will be given out on the show but "ABC.com" should be the on-line option. (Please watch the show to be sure.)

Help us make Suzanne -- and Lucy -- the winner!

"Game Show Congress" Brings Out the Stars

Game Show Congress #6 held a luncheon yesterday afternoon at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood, California, saluting two game show legends -- host Wink Martindale and producer Bob Stewart. Martindale received the 2007 Ralph Edwards Award for Career Community Service, while Stewart (creator of such shows as "The Price is Right," "To Tell the Truth" and "Password") received the 2007 Bill Cullen Award for Career Achievement.

In attendance to salute these two game show giants were Betty White; Betsy Palmer; Barbara Feldon; June Lockhart; Florence Henderson; announcers Don Pardo, Johnny Gilbert, and Charlie O'Donnell; Ann Cullen (Bill Cullen's widow); Larry Anderson (with girlfriend Mandy); Lois Nettleton; Earl Holliman; and Henry Polic II, among many others.

From our Lucy club, longtime members in attendance included artist Rick Carl (who designed the table centerpieces), Michael Stern (see photo, below), Larry Pane, Bob Boden and Stuart Shostak.

Included at the luncheon were video tributes to the game show honorees, celebrity speakers (including Betty White, who was completely surprised when she herself received an award for the first annual Arlene Francis GSC panel award), and a touching tribute to game show panelists Tom Poston, Charles Nelson Reilly and Kitty Carlisle.

Michael Stern with Betty White and Florence Henderson:

Have a great week!
