Still in Love with Lucy

Dear Fellow Lucy Fans,

Only four more days until the biggest Lucy celebration of the year! I refer, of course, to the third annual Lucy Birthday bash being held this coming weekend in Jamestown, New York.

Among this year's special guests are Irma Kusely and Wanda Clark, who will appear together in a Saturday afternoon discussion about the famous redhead. Irma was Lucy's hairdresser for over 40 years, and Wanda, of course, was her personal secretary for over 25. Two fascinating ladies with some remarkable stories to tell!

Earlier in the day, there is an Authors Breakfast, and one of the authors in attendance will be Lucy's good friend, Lee Tannen. Lee's top-selling memoir, "I Loved Lucy: My Friendship with Lucille Ball" will be released in paperback this fall.

I urge all Lucyfans in the New York area to attend the celebration and actively support its host -- the Lucy-Desi Museum. Support, of course, is something we all can all do by purchasing a membership in the organization. This is "make it or break it" time for the Museum... For the past 10 years, it has operated under the auspices of the local Arts Council. Now, at last, it is standing on its own -- but that means it will need EVERYONE's on-going support (financial and otherwise) if it is to succeed.

Success will ensure that there will be a permanent home for Lucy and Desi's priceless personal momentos, and a place future generations can visit and learn about these wonderful entertainers. If we do not support the Museum, no one else will either!

For information on how you can join, visit the Museum's web site at

See you next week!
