Dear Fellow Lucyfans:

New Collectibles

Just a quick up-date to mention a few new collectibles...

Fans of Desilu's "Untouchables" TV series will be interested to note that CBS/Paramount Home Video has released "Season 2/Part 2" on DVD... Included here are 16 one-hour episodes of the series starring Robert Stack as Federal Agent Eliot Ness. These originally aired on ABC Television Network during the spring of 1961, and are available here for the first time on DVD.

Paul Picerni, Nick Georgiade, Abel Fernandez, and Steve London co-starred in the series... Guest stars featured in these 16 episodes include Keenan Wynn, Joan Blondell, Harry Guardino, Telly Sevalas, Gale Robbins, Larry Parks, Viveca Lindfors, Victor Buono, Ricardo Montalban, Lee Marvin and Steve Cochran. Bruce Gordon, of course, pops up in a handful of episodes as the series' resident bad-guy, Frank Nitti.

The DVDs are priced at $39.98 -- but are available on-line at Amazon.com for $27.99.

Doll collectors should note that Mattel is releasing two new "Lucy"-themed dolls this fall -- one called "Santa Ricky" (which follows the previously-released "Santa Lucy" and "Santa Ethel") and one that is this year's Lucy Ricardo entry -- this one dressed in Lucy's famous black-lace evening outfit:

The limited-edition "Santa Ricky" doll is priced at $79.95, and the Lucy Ricardo doll at $59.95. Both are available from the Lucy-Desi Gift Shop in Jamestown, New York (www.lucy-desi.com)

Happy shopping!

FROM PREVIOUS WEEKS...

Friends of Old Time Radio - October Gathering

Lucie Arnaz and her husband Laurence Luckinbill will be appearing in various events at the 33rd "Friends of Old Time Radio" gathering on Saturday, October 25, 2008, at the Newark Airport Holiday Inn, Newark, NJ.

On Saturday afternoon at 3:15 p.m., Lucie will participate in the "Singers and Musicians" panel, and will perform a song from "They're Playing Our Song," accompanied on the piano by Brian Gari, the grandson of Eddie Cantor.

Then at 5:00 p.m., Gregg Oppenheimer will direct Larry and Lucie in a re-creation of a hilarious episode of "The Bickersons".

After the Saturday dinner banquet, Gregg will direct Larry and Lucie in another radio re-creation: "X Minus One: Mars Is Heaven," based on Ray Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles," co-starring Harold Gould (of TV's "Rhoda"), Shirley ("Marion Strong") Mitchell, Arthur Anderson (one of the original players in Orson Welles' "Mercury Theatre on the Air" and the voice of the "Lucky Charms" leprechaun), and actor-sportscaster Gil Stratton ("Stalag 17", "Girl Crazy", "The Wild Ones"). Keir Dullea, originally announced for this production, has had to cancel.
