Still in Love with Lucy

Dear Fellow Lucy Fans,

Many Happy Returns...

Birthday greetings to two of Lucy's (and our) favorite fellas -- Larry Anderson and Jimmy Garrett...

Larry (photo left), who co-starred as Lucy's son-in-law, Ted McGibbon in Life With Lucy, celebrated his birthday yesterday, September 22; while Jimmy (photo right), who appeared as Lucy's son, Jerry Carmichael, in The Lucy Show, celebrates his today.

How old are they? We'll never tell... Let's just say that both of them now reside on the same block as Speedy Cleaners and Goldblatt's Delicatessen.

Pick Up Those DVDs...

Just a reminder that the next two volumes of the Paramount I Love Lucy DVD series are due out next Tuesday, October 1. These are the over-the-counter versions of Volumes 3 and 4 of the Columbia House DVD series:

  • Volume 3 includes "Men Are Messy," "The Fur Coat," "Lucy is Jealous of a Girl Singer," and "Drafted."
  • Volume 4 has "The Adagio," "The Benefit," "The Amateur Hour," and "Lucy Plays Cupid."
If you already subscribe to the Columbia House series, there is no reason to buy these -- unless, of course, you want them for the different Paramount packaging.

Paramount is also releasing The I Love Lucy 50th Anniversary Special and The Carol Burnett Show: Show Stoppers specials on DVD and VHS next week.

Taking Home the Gold

Our congratulations to Jennifer Aniston and the cast and crew of Friends for finally taking home the Emmy last night.

Miss Aniston is the cover girl on the current issue of L.A. Confidential magazine, an issue devoted to the Emmy Awards... It was published last week -- so the results of last night's presentations are not included -- but photos of many of the nominees are! The magazine is also chock full of interesting photos from previous Emmy years, and includes three pictures (sadly all in black-and-white) of Lucy from the 1966 and '67 events... If the magazine is not available in your area, send us an e-mail and we will try to pick up a copy for you here in LA - ($4.95, plus sales tax and shipping).

That's the news for today...See you next week!
