Still in Love with Lucy

by Thomas Watson

Wednesday, March 26, 2003 UPDATED!

Dear Fellow Lucy Fans,

Dann Cahn just phoned and wanted to remind us all to pick up the current issue of Time magazine (the issue of March 31, 2003). In among the war coverage is a special 80th Anniversary section dedicted to "80 Days That Changed the World..."

Among the magazine's 80 days to remember is October 15, 1951 -- the day the world fell in love with Lucy. There is a nice half-page article written about the show by I Love Lucy scribes Bob Carroll Jr. and Madelyn Davis.

A nice addition to everyone's scrapbooks!

Ric Wyman in Jamestown just called to let us know that Lucy's sister-in-law, Zoe Ball, will NOT be joining us for the May Memorial Day festival after all -- but she will be there for the August gathering. It seems one of Zoe's grandsons is graduating from high school that same week -- and family with the Ball clan always comes first. (As it should!) We look forward to seeing Zoe in August!

And finally, CBS has posted its first information about the new Lucy TV biography-movie, which will air Sunday evening, May 4, 8-11PM. Rachel York and Danny Pino star as Lucy and Desi. For more information, visit the CBS web site at:

Until next time....
