Still in Love with Lucy

Dear Fellow Lucy Fans,
"Lucy" Airs Sunday
CBS's highly anticipated made-for-television movie/biography, "Lucy" finally airs this coming Sunday, May 4, 8-11PM (Eastern time).
The network's publicity machine has been working overtime, with ads (photo, right) appearing in magazines, on billboards and even on the sides of buses, at least in major metropolitan areas.
There is a short article in the May 5 issue of People magazine concerning Rachel York, the actress who plays Lucy in the new film. (Daniel Pino co-stars as Desi). Here are a couple of photos:
Travel Channel Biography Airs Tomorrow
Just a reminder that "LUCY! TV'S COMEDY QUEEN," a new documentary about our favorite redhead, will air tomorrow night on the Travel Channel cable network. It airs at 10PM and 1AM on the east coast, and 7 and 10PM on the west. Like many cable programs, the film will be repeated a few times in different time-slots in the coming weeks. Please see your local listings for airings in your area.
The documentary, which covers the career of Lucille Ball, will include interviews with Gregg Oppenheimer, son of I Love Lucy's Jess Oppenheimer; writer Bob Schiller; Bernie Weitzman, business affairs VP at Desilu; hair stylist Irma Kusely; film editor Dann Cahn; and many others.
Lucie Lights Up Miami
Lucie Arnaz opened last week in a new play, "Once Removed," at Miami's Coconut Grove Playhouse. The play, by Eduardo Machado, concerns five Cuban exiles who have fled Castro's Cuba a few months prior to the 1961 Bay of Pigs fiasco.
The show began previews April 22, officially opened on April 25, and will run through May 18.
