Dear Fellow Lucy Fans,
Paramount DVDs Released
Last week we mentioned the Columbia House I Love Lucy DVD releases, so it is only fair that we offer equal time this week to the Paramount Home Video releases of the same series...
Volumes 7 and 8 hit the local video stores last week, selling for approximately $14.95 each. Included on Volume 7 are episodes #24-27 ("The Gossip," "Pioneer Women," "The Marriage License," and "The Kleptomaniac"), while Volume 8 includes #28-31 ("Cuban Pals," "The Freezer," "Lucy Does a TV Commercial," and "The Publicity Agent.")
(Thankfully, the artwork for Volume 8 finally gives Lucy her beautiful blue eyes -- the first 7 packages show her with green eyes! Why?
One more disc, due out in about three months, will conclude the First Season episodes. Paramount intends to release all of Season Two (and subsequent seasons) as a boxed set. No release date has been scheduled.
A Legend Worldwide
Last week we also mentioned the passing of the great Katharine Hepburn. No sooner had we posted the letter than an e-message arrived from member Laura Johansen. Laura, who resides in Australia, where she runs the www.luciearnaz.com web site, was visiting England... She mentioned that she saw Rick Carl's tribute to Ms. Hepburn on two of the news specials presented over British television... Her parents, in Australia, told her Rick's art was seen there, as well. "I loved Kate Hep," she says, "and thanks to Rick for creating such a gorgeous tribute. I was proud to see it on the news last night, and doubly proud to know it was created by Rick."
Have a great week, everybody!
